Petr Malecek is a well-established international lawyer with over 30 years of work experience including working in Tokyo, London and across the CEE. Mr Malecek has a strong grasp of finance and in particular debt finance and its’ related legal issues having advised both borrowers (corporate and sovereign) and financial institutions (including the EBRD) in relation to real estate finance, project finance, leveraged acquisitions and sovereign debt mandates. Mr. Malecek’s strengths include strong negotiation skills; the ability to identify and account for political sensitivities; and extensive experience with the drafting of complex documentation. Furthermore, Mr Malecek has extensive dispute and asset-tracing/recovery experience. In addition, Mr Malecek has gained firsthand knowledge of (and contacts in) the Middle East, CEE, the former CIS, the UK and the USA; as well as proven expertise in the co-operation with and the management of local legal counsel across a number of jurisdictions in both transactional and dispute contexts.
